01The challenge
My work spanned the web and React Native applications of an enterprise, multi-tenant veterinary practice management platform. One architectural challenge was a diary module that had grown into a monolithic React component, with behavior, utilities, and rendering tightly coupled. This created a long-standing maintenance bottleneck within an actively developed product.
02The approach
Worked on the product’s ongoing development across both applications and redesigned the diary module’s internal architecture. Separated shared behavior into hooks, isolated utility logic, and introduced specialized views with clear responsibilities. The changes stayed within the existing application and were delivered alongside continued feature development.
03The result
Removed the module’s maintenance bottleneck and improved testability and onboarding. The architectural changes were delivered without disrupting production or requiring a feature freeze, supporting the product’s continued development.
